In Brief

Iraq trade show scheduled for March
The Iraqi-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, located in Baghdad, is organising a major exhibition and conference in the Iraqi capital in March 2005.

The Destination Baghdad Expo (DBX) will be staged from March 1-3 at the Baghdad International Airport in one of the giant Iraqi Airways hangers that is being renovated especially for the conference and show.
The show will actually be four shows in one, held under the same roof: DBX-Oil and Gas, DBX-Electricity, DBX-Construction, and DBX-General.
The airport is by far the most secure location in Baghdad and the organisers will provide limited accommodation at the airport itself in conjunction with Iraqi Airways, said Robert Merrill, business development manager, Iraqi-American Chamber of Commerce.
Sponsorship packages for the show range from Platinum at $50,000 to Bronze at $10,000. A simple 3 m x 3 m booth will cost $4900 and includes two tickets for the conference as well, he said.
