Crawford Door, a leading European supplier of industrial doors, is now introducing its latest door models in the Middle East market.
The new doors - the fully-glazed 242-model and the covered 542 - are both overhead sectional doors, designed to match all expected requirements in the upcoming, harmonised European safety standards, says a spokesman for the company.
These doors are now being produced in Saudi Arabia at Saudi Crawford Doors Factory, which has set up a new production line for these new products.
The new Crawford doors are designed for improved safety. The horizontal joints between the door sections are pinch-free and for the same reason, the vertical wall tracks are covered.
“The sectional overhead door, which disappears up under the roof when opened, is a well-established concept in Saudi Arabia,” says Roger Boogh, managing director of Saudi Crawford Doors Factory. “The obvious advantage is that it gives users completely free wall and floor areas around the door opening.
“The doors are completely outbalanced by springs made to order. Special anti-drop devices prevent the doors from moving downwards in case of a spring or cable breakage.”
In addition to the improved safety standards, the doors have been given a facelift when it comes to individual components like handle, lock, hinges and the sandwich sections have a new, modern micro-rilled surface.
Crawford Door, part of the Swedish public Cardo Group, is said to be the biggest supplier of industrial doors in Europe.
Saudi Crawford Doors Factory - which was established in 1989 by businessman Abdullah A Al Mohaisen and Cardo Door - has a state-of-the-art factory in the Industrial City, Phase II, of Riyadh. The factory aims to serve customers in Saudi Arabia, the other GCC states and Middle East countries.
“The branches, showroom and distributor network in Saudi Arabia ensure highly professional and personalised sales and after-sales services to customers.
The sales team and service technicians are trained at our own training centres in Saudi Arabia and Europe,” says managing director Roger Boogh.
Its industrial doors range consists of non-insulated doors for non-heat controlled buildings, insulated doors for heat-controlled buildings, extra-insulated doors for special requirements and fully glazed doors for applications where optimal daylight is required or when maximum exposure is demanded.
Saudi Crawford’s major products are overhead sectional doors, which fold up under the roof when opened; Megadoors, used for large openings such as aircraft hangars; Econoroll, which is a rapid-action roller door for intensive material flow; dock levellers, shelters and load houses.
The Crawford Dock Loading System includes dock levellers, shelters and load houses, which help provide a rational, energy efficient work environment that protects against weather when loading and unloading.
These products can be supplied either separately or for installation together with industrial doors as complete dock loading systems adjacent to openings.
Saudi Crawford Doors has an impressive customer portfolio in the kingdom.
The company also supplies dock levellers, shelters and residential garage doors and operates the largest service organisation in Saudi Arabia within the door and docking business. The company has set up sales and service points all over the kingdom, says Boogh.
