Antiseptic, disinfectant and liquid detergent specialist Amreet Industries is diversifying to produce special disinfectants for livestock, the company reported. “The facilities are on the line and production will commence shortly,” said factory manager TP Surendra.
“Amreet will be the first company in the GCC region to make special disinfectants for livestock. We see a big export potential for these products. The Middle East is our main market and we would like more shipments to go to Northeast Africa and the CIS markets. We are also targeting Southeast Asia,” said the official.
Established in 1997 and operating from a 10,000sq m factory at the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, Amreet Industries makes antiseptics, disinfectants, liquid detergents, natural cleaning products and industrial chemicals. Most of these are sold in super markets, hotels, restaurants, municipalities, laundries, large cleaning maintenance companies, oil fields and petrol and car wash stations.
“Amreet is the only company of its kind in the UAE having the ISO 9001:2000 certification. Most of the raw materials used are of European and American origin, and all finished goods are equal to the highest international standards,” said Surendra. At the helm of the company is Dr Ahmed Zohbi.
The company sells all that it produces with approximately 25 to 30 per cent of the output going abroad. The plan is to have an export-to-domestic sales ratio of 60:40. “We produce very specific products for hotels, restaurants, catering centres and fast food outlets. Some of the big-name franchises the company supplies to in the UAE are KFC, Pizza Hut, Fudrucker’s, Dunkin Doughnuts and Hardees,” says Surendra.
One of the top products is Environ, marketed in the natural cleaning products category. It is described as a fruit and vegetable wash that removes pesticides, chemicals, wax, dirt, oil, fungicides and herbicides. Environ, licensed by CHR, USA, is also advertised as environmentally safe, non-toxic, organic and completely rinseable.
A fast-selling range it makes is made up of industrial hygiene products such as Diamond, Omega, Rinsall, Real Clean, Clean Plus, Aimtic and Aimsol. They contain highly concentrated bactericidal detergents and are specially formulated for the washing of kitchen- and food-related items, panes and hard surfaces in general.
Other natural cleaning items it makes are Naturalis, formulated from plant extracts for use on all surfaces including those in which food is prepared or served; Ultra Shine, a concentrate used for cleaning jewellery; Mountain Fresh, a floor cleaner for various surfaces including ceramic, porcelain, marble, terrazzo, vinyl, granolithic, cement and linoleum; Happy Animals, an animal shampoo with antifungal and antibacterial properties, and Zerotox, a biodegradable degreaser and carbon remover. All of them are manufactured under licence from EC Labs, Florida, USA.
Amreet’s domestic products for super markets, groceries and institutions include disinfectants such as Highland Pine, Golden Pine, Country Garden, Active Bowl Cleaner, advertised as removing stains and build-up from urinals and toilet bowls without damaging the finish; Aim Dishwashing Liquid, Image Hand Soap, Aim All Purpose Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Fabrine, a fabric softener, and Star Carpet Shampoo.
The antiseptic products include Cetrol, Trust, Santol and Clean Plus, a high-foaming colourless liquid soap formulated for sanitising hands for use in clinics and restaurant kitchens.
For the oilfield sector Amreet makes oil dispersants, a heavy duty degreaser and corrosion inhibitors, and for car care service stations its range includes a car shampoo, tyre polish, radiator cleaner and low foaming car-carpet shampoo.
