Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) has successfully launched the largest vessel built at its shipyard in the Mussafah Industrial Area. The vessel is a 55 m fuel and water tanker designed and built specifically for the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) of Abu Dhabi.
The tanker is a modern twin screw coastal carrier with a capacity of 1,000 cu m of oil/water. The design philosophy of the vessel is based on "low maintenance" which ensures an optimal layout and maintainability of the installed high quality equipment.
The vessel is designed to operate in the exacting conditions of the Gulf. It features a spacious aft deckhouse with a modern, well-designed wheelhouse. The deckhouse includes living quarters that provide first class accommodation to a crew of seven. The Hull and superstructure are of fully welded steel. The vessel is propelled by two marine Caterpillar diesel engines with 1,260 bhp at 1800 rpm, each driving a fixed pitch propeller in a nozzle. The vessel complies with all regular authorities like IMO, Solas and Marpol.
