Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the region's leading exhibition organiser, announced recently that the 2003 edition of the Hardware and Tools exhibition to be held from May 17-20, 2003 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will include a new section entitled Windows and Doors 2003, targeted at the construction industry in the region.
"Construction activity in the Middle East is currently at an all time high, with the ongoing construction boom fuelling a greater demand for windows, doors, construction-related products and equipment," said Geoff Dickinson, managing partner, Epoc Messe Frankfurt. "Market research indicates that in the next 24 months over $40 billion will be spent in Dubai alone on major construction developments. It is estimated that the cost of the houses, hotels, apartments and shops of the prestigious Dubai Marina project itself will exceed $4.4 billion. It is evident that there exists a burgeoning market for construction-related products in the region."
"Windows and doors have begun to assume greater significance in recent times not only because of their essential requirement in construction-related activity," he added. "They are no longer just viewed as functional exits and entrances or safety devices, but incorporate a variety of artistic and innovative techniques and designs depending on their particular usage. The influence of modern thought has also encouraged the use of metal, glass, plastic and other materials in addition to the traditional wooden frames, giving rise to a wider choice of designs. In view of this development and the positive forecast about the construction industry, we have introduced Windows and Doors 2003 to meet the ever-increasing market demand," he added.
Products on display at the show will include wooden, metal and plastic frames, doors, glass processing equipment, woodworking, door and window fixings hardware, paints, lacquers and varnishes, gates, electronic opening systems, security systems and locks, shades, blinds and accessories, ventilation products, sealants, abrasives, hand tools and power tools, ornamental fittings, handles, cleaning agents in addition to all fixtures for windows and doors.
