Transformers Company (FTC), a fully owned UAE establishment, has announced it has completed supplies of more than 1,100 transformers to customers in the UAE, other GCC states, Ghana and Syria, among other countries, since starting commercial production in January 2000.

FTC, which is promoted by Al Nasser Industrial Enterprises, the industrial arm of Al Nasser Holdings, also announced it planned to expand its product base and geographical reach in the near future.

FTC manufactures oil -filled transformers up to 10,000 kVA, 36kV class; dry-type cast resin transformers; Midel/silicone liquid transformers, package substations and special transformers including boosters and auto.

"The company has a vision to be an active player in the vibrant electric power sector of the region by offering high-quality transformers and allied products," it said in a statement. FTC got its products successfully type tested at the world-renowned test laboratory KEMA, the Netherlands.

FTC is the only company in the Gulf region that has type tested dry type cast resin transformer in Kema. The company also has the distinction of having successfully type tested eight different ratings/types of transformers with a short span of two years.

The company's quality systems are audited by TUV, Germany, and ISO-9001 certified. The quality policy of the company is to provide products and customer service that meet or exceed customer needs and expectations consistent with industry standards.

FTC has an in-house design section equipped with qualified and trained engineers and the latest design software.

FTC manufactures the products in a modern factory of 21,528 sq ft that is equipped with machinery and test facilities to manufacture 2,400 MVA transformers per year.

The state-of-the art machinery includes CNC-controlled step lap core cutting machine, foil winding machine, layer winding machine and vacuum drying oven.

The test facilities include the digital power analyser, digital ratio meter, digital micrometer, partial discharge measurement system and noise level measurement system.

The production processes are controlled and undergo stringent quality control procedures during every stage of manufacture.
