SPX Valves & Controls has announced the introduction of an enhanced version of its Alpha 1 software to allow users to select the most suitable DeZurik valve for a wider range of process conditions. Version 6.4 also provides specification sheets, calculations, characteristic curves and outline drawings.
"With Alpha 1, Version 6.4, users can now size for all DeZurik valves with the required capacity for specified process conditions. In addition, the programme calculates parameters for superheated steam conditions," the company said.
Users can select between gauge and absolute pressure units, and can calculate pipe insulation effects based on typical thermal and acoustical insulation. Additions to the database include common liquids and gases as well as pipe schedules. The Alpha 1 programme generates an installed characteristic curve that can be used to characterise the DeZurik Intelli-Pulse Digital Valve Controller from SPX Valves & Controls for more accurate process control.
