Exova, Ma’aden sign deal

Exova, a leading global testing, calibration and advisory services provider, has signed a three-year framework agreement with Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) to provide environmental monitoring services across the kingdom.

Services Exova will provide include air quality testing as well as noise monitoring for 12 of Ma’aden’s operations across the kingdom.  

As part of the agreement Exova will also provide sampling and analysis of off-site groundwater, wastewater and potable water, ensuring that Ma’aden sites comply with local and international regulatory requirements.


GCC firms eye Egypt city

A consortium of Saudi and UAE companies has expressed interest in setting up a giant industrial city in the Suez region of Egypt at an investment of $3 billion.

A request has been submitted to the Economic Commission of the Suez Canal for acquiring a 5 million sq ft area for the project, reported Arab News, citing a senior official.

The city will boast 120 industrial factories including ones for food items and automobiles. About $300 million has been set aside for the basic infrastructure of the project.


Marsol wins Oman deals

UAE-based Marsol International has won two contracts in Oman.

The first contract involves a Single Point Mooring (SPM) change out, including the removal of the existing aging structures followed by installation of new buoys while the second one involves providing and managing all marine and offshore activities related to tanker loadings via an SPM offshore marine terminal.


Emirates honoured

EMIRATES SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has been awarded the ‘Diamond Award’ at the Air Cargo Excellence Awards organised by Air Cargo World. It was given top honours in the category of air carriers with over 1 million annual freight tonnes carried.

The award given to SkyCargo is considered prestigious in the air freight sector.
