Hypertherm launched three new products including HyDefinition Inox (HDi) technology for cutting thin stainless steel at EuroBLECH and declared they received a very positive response from the sheet metal working industry.
Other products introduced at the event were the MAXPRO200 and the 3.0 kW HyIntensity Fibre Laser system.
“Attracted by the diversity of the Hypertherm product range and depth, visitors appreciated the new products and technologies shown, the live demo’s with the Powermax105, CopperPlus electrode technology, the HyPro2000 upgrade torch for MAX200 and HD3070 systems and the extended Centricut consumable portfolio,” said a company statement.
“For the first time in metal cutting history, HDi for HPRXD systems brings HyDefinition plasma technology to the thin stainless range, setting new standards in cut quality, cut speed and consumable life,” the statement said adding that a simple operation could be set up with high output quality by only adding a new set of 60 amp HDi consumables, resulting in instant superior thin stainless cutting on existing HPRXD installations.
“Hypertherm is excited to lead the way in the full range of stainless steel cutting with new HDi technology for thin stainless, optimised gas mixing for mid-range thicknesses and patented PowerPierce technology combined with an innovative controlled pierce process for the thickest piercing and cutting capability available,” said Theo Cornielje, regional director for the EMEA region.
Another new product, the MAXPRO200, is a 200 amp, single-button-operated cutting and gouging system that can be used in both handheld and mechanised applications. It has a production pierce capacity on mild steel of 32 mm and a severance capacity of 75 mm. The MAXPRO200 combines maximised productivity with reliable process efficiency, the lowest operating cost possible and dramatically increased consumable life.
Discussing the capabilities of the third new product unveiled at the event, the fully-integrated HFL030 HyIntensity Fibre Laser system, Hyopertherm said the new 3.0 kW power source is considered to be a great addition to the HyIntensity Fiber Laser family, the only turn-key solution in the market place, designed specifically for metal cutting applications, including marking and fine-feature cutting.
Hypertherm integrated its bevel expertise into the ProNest 2012 version of CAM Solutions, making bevel capabilities available to HPRXD users. Like True Hole and Rapid Part, bevel technology is part of Hypertherm’s integrated cutting solutions.
Hypertherm designs and manufactures advanced cutting systems for use in a variety of industries such as shipbuilding, manufacturing, and automotive repair. Its product line includes handheld and mechanised plasma and laser systems and consumables as well as CNC motion and height controls and CAM cutting software.
Its reputation for plasma innovation dates back more than 40 years, to 1968, with its invention of water injection plasma cutting.
