Intense Ltd, developer of next-generation semiconductor lasers, systems and solutions, has announced at Photonics West the release of a high power 30 W version of the Series 8000 808 nm highpower laser pump modules.
The new multi-emitter pump module delivers 30 W of output power from a 200 micron core fibre, 0.15 or 0.22 numerical aperture. The laser is designed to meet a growing demand for fibre or solid state pumping applications. Its compact size and combination of efficiency and high brightness make it a high performance pumping alternative for fibre and solid-state laser systems used in defense, medical, and industrial applications.
The Series 8000 808 nm fibre coupled packages provide robust, cost-effective, and compact solutions for applications with power requirements up to 30 W. With this release, the high power chip technology of the Series 8000 808nm is now available for a range of power levels, from fibre coupled single emitters at 6 W to multi-emitter, high-power, high-brightness, fibre coupled modules at 30 W.

Quantum Well Intermixing technology
The entire Series 8000 family of laser pump products is based on Intense’s next generation of single and multi-emitter chips that incorporate narrow beam divergence and Intense’s patented Quantum Well Intermixing (QWI) technology to maximise power, brightness, and reliability.
The Series 8000 808 nm fibre coupled packages come standard with 200 µ x 0.22 NA fibres; 0.15 NA fibre options are available on request. This chip technology is offered in a variety of free space configurations with FAC options.
The Series 8000 808 nm 30 W multi-emitter pump modules are available in custom packaging to match OEM system requirements.
