Saudi Arabia’s Almajdouie Steel Industries (MSI) has announced it will incorporate innovative features to its new models to be introduced in the first half of this year.
The Signature Series is aimed at professional fleet owners and companies operating in the GCC region, said engineer Basem Ahmed Tohmeh, the company’s general manager.
“MSI is determined to provide its customers with every possible advantage leading to more safety, efficiency, and profitability, thereby helping owners have an edge over the competition and increasing their market share in today’s tough economic conditions,” Tohmeh stated.
“The Signature Series will enjoy the same original lightweight design of durable strength, but will be equipped with the latest Euro container locks to better secure container cargo and reduce maintenance and downtime. The product incorporates quality and aesthetics guaranteed to impress owners and customers,” Tohmeh affirmed.
The Signature Series is also equipped with a new version of the WABCO EBS modular brake system along with smart trailer features.
“The Smart trailer technology from Almajdouie Steel Industries puts electronics intelligence on trailers for the first time in the region. This will allow fleet owners to save money on tire wear as the smart system is devised to lift the front axle automatically when there is no load and put it down when there is load. This can be done at a preset specified load level. The smart system also allows monitoring of pressure on all three axles. In addition, it records the history of load/weight placed on every axle during a particular trip, thus giving the user optimum tire wear savings. An electronic chip incorporated in Almajdouie trailers will include an automatic backup alarm and backup lights”.
Sliding curtain side system
Another feature being introduced is the new kit of the sliding curtain side system designed for the Signature Series.
“The new system gives the advantage of converting the new line of flatbed series into a curtain side unit in a matter of 20 hours with just two men in the workshop, and this will be manufactured by Almajdouie in the beginning of the third quarter 2009,” said Tohmeh.
“The flexibility of converting fleet trailers to curtain side units puts you again ahead of the competition, giving you the edge to bid and lead over others, as you provide solutions to your customers – a far better situation than having to wait until you fabricate new curtain side units. There are also additional savings when one compares the system to other conventional options.”
Product exports
Established in 1976, Dammam-based MSI is one of the top quality-conscious semi-trailer manufacturing companies in the region with products exported to the European market of Italy, Sudan, South Africa, Nigeria, and the whole of the Gulf region.
The company has a monthly output capacity of 300 units with its specially built hydraulic Gooseneck low beds, lightweight flatbeds, all types of special tankers including heat jacketed molten sulphur and asphalt carriers, lightweight tippers, cement bulkers, curtain siders, pipe dollies and Class-One refrigerated and insulated reefer trailers and boxes.
It pledges to deliver every year better, safer and special-feature products in the region with an eye on putting users ahead of their peers, achieving savings and providing capabilities for better control of fleet operations.
