German tools manufacturer Meba, an exhibitor at the GI Fair, has experienced good growth in turnover over the past three years, rising from 8 million euros in 2004 to 9 million euros in 2005 and on to 13 million euros in the following year.

This year, says a company spokesman, it expects to touch 16 million euros.
Meba’s top-selling products are metal bandsawing machines for steel fabrication applications: double-mitre cutting and automatic infeed gripper for long lengths. The machines come with modern design and linear guides, AC-drives and heavy gears. The company has a European patent for double-mitre automatic bandsaws.
   Seventy per cent of the turnover comprises bandsaws for steel fabrication (beams, tubes etc), the spokesman says.
Recent new products it has marketed include big lines with 1100 DG for professional work in steel fabrication with double mitres and connections with drill lines (Peddinghaus).
“New products are planned for the heavy metal industry in full section material,” the spokesman says, without further elaboration.
Meba has supplied for major projects its sawing lines with infeed and outfeed roller tables with measuring devices and connections with saw drill lines from Peddinghaus.
The company sees good demand for its offerings in the oil industry, the steel fabrication industry and in halls construction.
“We use a worldwide system with sales and service partners in most countries,” the spokesman says.
