Fazel A Fazelbhoy, CEO of Topaz Energy and Marine, said Doha Marine Services was set to join companies in three business units of Topaz Marine - Topaz Marine Azerbaijan (Bue Caspian), Topaz Marine Kazakhstan (Bue Kazakhstan) and Topaz Marine Mena (Nico Middle East, Topaz Marine Saudi Arabia) who had received the same accreditations.
Topaz Marine Azerbaijan and Topaz Marine Kazakhstan have been certified with ISO 9001 for more than seven years.
“All the regional offices operate to a common documented system to ensure consistency while maintaining quality standards. The effectiveness of the quality management system is measured and continually improved by using quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective/preventive actions and periodic review from management,” said Fazelbhoy.

Commenting on his organisation’s approach to quality, Fazelbhoy said:
“Quality Assurance within the organisation is implemented by means of well-documented quality procedures, quality plans and work instructions. All processes are reviewed and evaluated periodically to ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Internal audits are carried out periodically to verify the process effectiveness and evaluate findings to ensure continual improvement. This also involves a mechanism that measures customer satisfaction and tracks complaints investigation.
“Quality Control happens in a similar organised way. It begins with a comprehensive meeting with all the concerned people to understand the scope of work and clients’ specific requirements. A detailed Inspection Test Plan is developed with all stages of inspection and various witness points documented to ensure a proactive approach towards quality.”
