Universal Paint and Chemical Industries (Chemipaint), Abu Dhabi, winner of several major contracts in recent years, has moved to bigger premises in Mussafah with an expanded product portfolio.

A subsidiary of Lebanon-based Chemipaint Group, the company started its UAE operations in 2005 in the same district.
“Chemipaint products have enhanced the endurance and strength of many prestigious projects including one of Mercedes Benz’s biggest showrooms and workshops in the world,” the company says.
It supplied Chemifloor SF 1905 to the Mercedes showroom in Abu Dhabi.
“In collaboration with Mercedes agent Emirates Motor Company (EMC), part of Al Fahim Group, and led by Chemipaint’s research and experience, Chemipaint provided the best solution,” said a Chemipaint spokesman while commenting on the order.
“Based on technical studies and rigorous research, it was deduced that Chemifloor SF 1905, a high-quality performance product, was ideal for such a showroom,” he said.
“This product is characterised by its high level of lucidity with concrete and also offers strong resistance against scratches and harmful chemical substances. It preserves the glossy effect and prevents wheels from getting slippery or greasy.
“Being a natural pure epoxy product, it means it is devoid of solvent particles that might negatively affect human beings and the environment.
“Presenting such a product is a unique transitional step forward for Chemipaint. It is exclusively manufactured and is oriented towards protecting industrial flooring areas from adverse organic factors and side effects.”
The company was awarded the Dh938,000 ($255,583) contract in May of last year and it successfully completed the order in January 2009.
It has supplied the same product for other projects including the F2 desalination plant in Fujairah.
“Chemipaint Abu Dhabi manufactures the same product range and follows the same philosophy as its mother company in Lebanon,” says the spokesman. “It utilises staff expertise and knowledge to come out with improved products and services from time to time.”
The product range includes architectural paints, primers and sealers, varnishes and wood preservatives. The company also offers a growing range of technologically upgraded internal decorative and external texture paints.
Chemipaint also manufacturers heavy-duty industrial maintenance products such as epoxy systems, two-pack polyurethane paints, thermoplastic acrylic paints, courtyard paints, water proofing products and systems, elastomeric and anti-carbonation paints, chlorinated rubber paints and paint removers.
The company has a contracting division manned by over 60 workers, a technical advisor, site supervisors and application controllers to provide additional support and services to customers.
Some of the projects executed by the company include Dubai Maritime City with Pauling Middle East, a residential complex in Fujairah, Al Raha Gardens, Adnec Phase II, Qasr Al Sarab and Movenpick Spa and Resort.
