Officials of LG and United Yousef M Naghi Company at a launch press conference

LG Electronics, the global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances, and its distributors, United Yousef M Naghi Company of Saudi Arabia, have announced the launch of LG’s impressive line of 2009 LCD and Plasma TV series.

“The new 2009 LCD and Plasma TV series is set to revolutionise the regional television sector, offering a unique combination of the highest level of slim sophistication, stylish design and advanced technology – extending unmatched picture quality and an unforgettable experience,” an LG statement said.
The new series includes the LH70, LH50, LH20 and LF15 LCD range, as well as the PQ70, PQ60 and PQ30 Plasma range. The entire gamut of LCD and Plasma TV series on offer from LG caters to different tastes, preferences and price-bands, with each series targeted at a certain clientele.
Simon Lee, general manager of LG Electronics in Saudi Arabia, said the new LCD and Plasma 2009 series offered a remarkable combination of design, versatility and digital features. “The entire range is stylish enough to fit in any living room as an exceptional home décor element, and can easily be connected to a wide variety of devices. One of the salient features is that we have targeted various price segments to cater to different needs and preferences — thus staying within reach for most buyers,” said Lee.
The new LCD range comes in size between 32 inches and 47 inches; and the new Plasma TV range is sized between 42 and 50 inch.

New series ‘distinctive’
“The stylish series offers a new world of advanced technology that provides incredibly sharp full HD image quality with LG TruMotion technology and rich, clear sound. The new series is distinctive thanks to its superior picture and sound quality with a sleek and eye-catching silhouette,” LG said.
The LH70 and the PQ70 allows for a wealth of content once relegated to the computer onto the big screen with support for Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and HD DivX. With Bluetooth, the LH70 and the PQ70 connect directly to mobile phones to easily display mobile pictures and music in the living room. A USB 2.0 port and HD DivX support make it easy to watch high resolution video files stored on external hard discs, memory cards or other USB devices. Four HDMI 1.3 ports allow multiple HD or full HD sources to be connected while ensuring the highest level of clarity and compatibility.
Hwang Unchul, executive vice president, United Naghi, said: “LG has reinforced its reputation as the undisputed leader in the TV industry by unraveling the new LCD and Plasma series. Compatible with the latest digital formats and offering a vast array of convenient inputs, the new range from LG perfectly balances smart technology and stylish designs that fit into any consumers’ lifestyle. We are privileged to be partnering LG in this very interesting growth phase.”
The full HD TruMotion technology, being offered by the latest range, creates images that move naturally and clearly, without even the slightest perception of blur. Unlike other TVs, which insert a series of fake or interpolated images between frames to reduce motion blur, the new series creates far better looking images by precisely controlling its scanning backlight. This means that every pixel of full HD 1080p resolution has real-life clarity and sharpness.
“We have designed the latest LG LCDs and Plasmas to be subtle, yet beautiful and to fit into any space, breathing with it, not working against it,” said James Lee, product marketing manager of LG Electronics, Saudi Arabia.
“While the LH70 stands as an intelligent style icon with slim design at only 39.7 mm in depth and narrow bezel at below 35 mm, the LH50 achieves not only amazingly fast response time but also more natural and stable picture quality in fast motion. From its sleek lines and refined curves to its incredible picture quality, the new products are a work of art that anyone would be proud to display,” he added. The new LCD and Plasma series uses LG’s unique Invisible Speaker and Clear Voice II technologies to create optimal sound quality.
The products also offer the Smart Energy Saving Plus, a technology that reduces power consumption by precisely controlling the TV’s backlight. This system uses LG’s Intelligent Sensor technology, which analyses the light in a room and adjusts the backlight accordingly. This can lower power use by up to 75 per cent compared to other comparably sized TVs, while also reducing eye strain during extended viewing.
