The company’s stall at the show

Alomi Real Wood Floors picked up almost $2 million of business on the first day of the gulfBID event organised by Al Hilal Exhibitions and Conferences and dmg world media.
The company netted a $1 million deal with Bahrain Financial Harbour and added a $500,000 deal and a $250,000 contract.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Alomi chief executive officer Albert Douglas.
He said his Dubai-based business had attended all three gulfBID shows and the contracts were the result of groundwork done at last year’s show.
“We talked to these people at last year’s show and now that business has come to fruition and there are a lot of contacts we have made in the past that now look like generating even more business,” he said.
“This year’s show has been a huge success for us and the business we have done so far was more than my wildest of dreams. But it now looks as though there could be more on the horizon. We have had a tremendous response from visitors this year.”
The company, which operates out of London and Dubai, is now looking to open an office in Bahrain later this year.
“Not only is the Bahrain market booming but there are tremendous opportunities to use the kingdom to target business in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia so it is time for us to have a full-time presence here,” he said.
