Distrupol has said its attendance at Medtec UK earlier this year had generated over 60 new leads, three of which have already resulted in tool trials of polymers supplied by the company.

The company believes the good response at the show was largely down to the availability of its own development engineers, and those of its material suppliers, to discuss product development opportunities and polymer solutions at the stand.
“Medtec 2008 has been one of our most successful shows in recent years,” comments John Brenchley, marketing and medical product manager, Distrupol. “Projects for the medical sector normally have long lead times, but the availability of our own development experts at Medtec UK meant we could immediately shorten that period in providing direct feedback to visiting companies and generate valuable new business leads immediately. Indeed, visitors to the Distrupol stand were delighted to be able to get on-the-spot responses to their material and design queries.”
Distrupol shared its stand at Medtec with several of its suppliers, including VTC Elastoteknik, with its range of SEBS materials for use in medical tubing and mouldings and DuPont Engineering Polymers, with information on its range of high-performance polymer grades for healthcare components. Ineos Polyolefins used the show as an opportunity to discuss its new Eltex MED range of medical-grade LDPE materials, which Distrupol recently added to its portfolio.
There was also strong interest among visitors - mainly designers and engineers from UK and European medical component manufacturers - for Zylar Clear acrylic copolymers from Ineos Nova. This polymer is an ideal candidate for replacing polycarbonate in syringes and drug delivery systems.
Distrupol also participated in the Medical Design Debate during the PDM show at the Telford International Centre in mid-April.
It will again be at full strength highlighting it’s medical range of polymers.at Medtec Ireland, which is held on 24 and 25 September 2008 at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Galway.
