Sharma: the new KVM system has potential

Tripp Lite, a leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has announced the launch of its newest full-enterprise KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) line, which comes complete with switches, consoles, cable kits and accessories.

The latest compact control solution has been designed to maximise rack space use for large network environments by combining maximum control capability with minimum demands on space. The launch is part of the company’s plans to capture at least 25 per cent of the market share in the GCC region, and build on the remarkable growth it has achieved in 2007.
Capable of controlling up to 4,000 computers or servers from a single console, the full-enterprise KVM line includes a 32-port matrix model; four all-in-one console models (two eight-port and two 16-port) that integrate a keyboard, touch pad and a 15” or 17” LCD screen with the switch; and an additional eight-port all-in-one model with 17” LCD, which adds IP capability to enable the switch to be accessed from any computer on the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) or internet. Taking up a mere 1U, the KVM line also includes two rack mount consoles with 17” and 19” LCD screens, which eliminate the need for separate consoles and banish cable clutter. With daisy-chaining of additional non-console switches, they can control up to 512 computers or servers.
Vipin Sharma, a regional vice president for sales at Tripp Lite, observed:  “The launch of our newest KVM line is another welcome addition to our wide selection of enterprise KVM solutions, which are continuously being enhanced to meet all of our customers’ needs, not only in hardware robustness but also in space requirements. We expect the potential of this product line to go beyond $15 million across the Mena region,”
Sharma said that by constantly offering an optimal KVM system, the company had established its expertise, integrating practical space and operational features with highly capable hardware. “Our operation last year has been highlighted by new product launches such as this one, which has greatly contributed to the outstanding revenues we have achieved, and we intend to continue this trend in the coming years,” he said.
In addition to its highly robust main components, the new KVM line also features three Cat5 models (eight-port and 16-port), which cut costs by utilising widely available, inexpensive cabling. A wide range of KVM cable kits, adapters, interface modules and accessories make Tripp Lite’s KVM switches compatible to any application. The manufacturer has also created a KVM architecture design support team to help customers select the solution that best suits their specific application.
The launch of its newest KVM line precedes the manufacturer’s outlined plans to introduce its innovative medical-grade UPSs, modular racks, PoS-supporting UPSs, first-class home theatre cables, connectivity products and surge protectors. With a strong focus on real estate, banking, healthcare and aviation, Tripp Lite seeks to boost its presence in Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Pakistan through vertical specific product launches, road shows, seminars and investments into channel partner training.
“As investments on infrastructure and networking become the primary drivers of the booming regional IT spending, the focus of our operations is to continuously address the growing demand for top-of-the-line control, connectivity and storage hardware in the region. We are also aiming to further develop our technical support teams to cover our entire product line, while focusing on the launch of new offerings and our entry to other highly profitable markets,” concluded Sharma.
