All egg producers and poultry farm owners are invited to visit our plants in Riyadh and in Al Hair to experience first-hand the benefits of this product - Al Rajhi Riyadh Carton Factory (RCF), a fully-owned subsidiary of Al Watania for industries, has recently introduced a totally new and colorful integrated egg tray that is gaining wide acceptance from egg producers and poultry farm owners throughout the Kingdom.

"The new egg tray, which is considered by some experts as a quantum leap in the egg tray industry, was introduced after extensive studies and researches,'' says Sheikh Ali S Al Rajhi, general manager.

''The potential advantages the tray provides for major international egg manufacturers was taken into consideration by the company while introducing the product,'' he says.

"RCF , which is ISO 9002 certified , was established in 1983 and since then it has manufactured and supplied millions of egg tray products to local and regional companies," says Al Rajhi.

"Numerous problems occur as a result of using conventional egg trays, leading to heavy losses," he continues. "These include egg breakage and the need to use different sizes of trays commensurate to the size of eggs''.

Explaining further, Al Rajhi says that traditionally an egg tray factory applies three sizes for holding eggs: 15.5 IIB, 17.0 IIB and 20 IIB . Despite buying and storing three types of trays, a poultry farm can never produce eggs that fit into only these three sizes.

"Worldwide, there is a growing trend on cutting losses, and our studies and research on egg production in the Kingdom have shown the problems are no different here," says Al Rajhi. "The producers need a high quality tray suitable for holding any size of egg. This is the most important and critical aspect of egg production where any negligence will result in egg breakage.

''The new RCF trays protect eggs against both breakage and rocking," he adds. Further, the new trays also reduce transportation costs . ''Our research showed that the average refrigerated truck (reefer) has a capacity for 500 boxes holding 360 eggs each. By using the new egg trays, the same will have a capacity for 650 boxes, a 35 per cent increase each trip.''

RCF believes that its new tray is a departure from the conventional in that it has more aesthetic appeal. Producers can put their products in red, green, blue and other attractive colours. "Not only does it help the producers, but also it appeals to the end-user," says Al Rajhi.

It has been found, following the tray's trial use at Al-Watania Poultry Farms, that the product represents a major step forward in the company's product development programme. ''We see huge growth potential in the future," he says.

"The company has a highly skilled and experienced sales team which is ready to serve customers any time.

''All egg producers and poultry farm owners are invited to visit our well-equipped plants in Riyadh and in Al Hair to experience first-hand the benefits of this product,'' says Al Rajhi.
