Axium Process, specialist stainless steel fabricators, has recently introduced a low cost perforated sheet strainer to its existing range of hygienic stainless steel filters.
The new Econ-Screen filter range has a standard 3” housing and is manufactured with an “out to in” flow, 316L stainless steel perforated screen. With operating pressures of up to 10 bar, it is designed as a low pressure drop ‘last chance’ filter before a pump or in-line instrument as well as a strainer for coarse particle filtration, says a company spokesman.
“Manufactured in 316L stainless steel contact parts, the Econ-Screen filter range is comes with standard inlet and outlet sizes of 1”, 11/2” and 2” and is available as either a 90 deg or an in-line option. The filter is fully welded and does not use expanded fittings. All welds are ground flush and polished internally and externally to 0.8 um Ra.
“The Econ-Screen is designed for full drainability, employs no ‘O’ rings and has a metal to metal seal design which ensures that the filter element can be removed easily and without sticking. The interchangeable filter elements are available in 1000, 2000 and 3000 micron sizes as standard. End connections can be fabricated to suit customer specification and include plain-ended, clamp, DIN, IDF, SMS, RJT, and BSP options,” says the spokesman.
Axium’s range of filters also includes the Pure-Screen filter, which has been designed for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries or for applications that require the ultimate specification in terms of design, finish and pressure rating.
