Proclad Group International, a leading company in the oil & gas and petrochemical industry, has signed an agreement with Dubai Techno Park to set up a Dh400 million ($108.9 million) industry complex at the Park.
The industry complex will be developed on a total land area of 500,000 sq ft, and house more than 300 employees, including scientists, consultants, engineers and technicians.
It will comprise Proclad’s manufacturing facility that will produce specialised products for the oil and gas industry, besides a professional training academy to impart advanced training to local students to help them evolve into competitive professionals in the oil and gas industry.
In addition, it will have a Research & Development Centre focused on developing innovative technologies relevant to the oil and gas sector. The centre will be linked with Proclad R&D centres in Scotland and Singapore, set up in collaboration with leading European and American R&D institutes.
Yaseen Jafar, CEO, Proclad Group International, said, “Proclad has stepped up its operations in the Middle East, and is currently bidding for a number of projects which are cumulatively worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The industrial complex at Techno Park will handle most of these high-profile projects, and will effectively serve as the nerve centre for all our future operations.”
“Dubai Techno Park offers a stimulating business environment, and its strategic location and excellent infrastructure facilities were key factors that influenced our decision to establish operations there,” Jafar added.
Proclad has been involved in a number of major projects throughout the world, and has provided its products and services to a host of blue-chip clients including Adnoc Group, Saudi Aramco, BP, McDermott, Shell, RasGas, Technip, ABB Vetco Gray and Cooper Cameron.
“We are pleased to welcome Proclad to the growing list of high-profile companies which have established operations in Techno Park,” said Abdullah Ahmed Al Quraishi, CEO, Dubai Techno Park. “Proclad is one of the biggest names in the global oil and gas industry, and their decision to set up their new industrial complex at Techno Park will add considerable value to our client portfolio.”
