Jotun Paints, a leading manufacturer of protective paints and marine coatings, recently launched six new products and one entirely new concept for the industry.
The new products include Jotamastic Smart Pack, SeaForce Antifouling, Hardtop PSO, Hardtop Flexi and Tankcoating, with the relaunch of Baltoflake and Waterfine, says Venkat Krishnan, regional brand manager. All are designed for the protective and marine sector and considered to be extremely advanced in terms of current market offerings.
The products have been in development over the last three years where they have undergone extensive research and development before being approved by several independent laboratories around the world.
“The standard of these products really is groundbreaking. Currently there is nothing in the market that can compare. We are anticipating that there will be a huge demand for the new coatings throughout the region,” Krishnan said.
“Jotamastic Smart Pack is a unique product for maintenance onboard offering high-quality corrosion protection. Of roller/brush quality, it is ideal for smaller jobs and compatible with all topcoats,” he said.
“Seaforce Antifouling takes three steps forward with Seaforce 30, 60 and 90. The new technology involved in these products offers more predictable performance and low DFT request at a very competitive price.
“Hardtop PSO provides highest flexibility compared to other polisiloxanes, excellent gloss and colour retention and low DFT.”
“Hardtop Flexi is impact resistant, with excellent adhesion for all primers and is fast drying. It is the most flexible topcoat on the market.
Baltoflake, which has been relaunched, has rapid drying as its main characteristic. “Providing high build the coating offers 1000-1500 microns in one coat giving long-lasting corrosion protection,” says Krishnan.
Waterfine is described as a complete system that can be applied in one day. Norsok prequalified, the product is environmentally friendly for both those applying the product and the environment, according to Krishnan.
Tankguard (storage) is said to be a very economic product targeted at product tankers and storage tanks.
