The Duproof plant: a good start

Following an outstanding increase in sales in its first full year of commercial operations, UAE company Duproof is thinking of doubling its production facility to accommodate growing orders.

The Dubai-based specialist in the manufacture of a complete range of water proofing and damp-proofing materials could see its current production capacity of 15 million sq m per year of membranes and 10,000 tonnes per year of coatings/emulsions and solutions doubling before long.
Duproof started 2004 with less than $100,000 worth of orders in hand but it ended the year with a business of approximately $1 million.  It has exported 30 per cent of its production and with distributors positioned in all Arab countries as well as in some European and Far Eastern states, the company is poised to expand both production and overseas sales. It is keen to allot as much as 70 per cent of the production capacity to overseas sales.
New waterproofing products the company has introduced include the fast-moving APP (atactic polypropylene)/SBS (styrene butadiene styrene) combined waterproofing torch-applied sheet membranes  (Duplasel), 4 mm-thick self-adhesive membrane with a slate surface (Duseal SP 4 mm), hot-applied bitumen (Duasphaltum) and elastomeric liquid-applied membrane (Duseal R 300).
The company employs state-of-the-art technology and conforms to international standards such as ASTM, BS and European Technical Agreement for the manufacture of high-quality bituminous-modified APP, SBS and APP/SBS-combined waterproofing torch-applied sheet membranes, self-adhesives and elastomeric liquid-applied membranes, protective coatings, mastics, specialised polymerised bituminous emulsions and solutions, among other things.
