Oman has singed an agreement with Oiltanking from Germany and the Norwegian Odfjell to manage new storage terminal and berthing facilities for liquids and gases at the Sohar Industrial Port.

“This is an important agreement for Sohar Industrial Port, for Sohar and indeed the whole of Oman,” Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy, Minister of Transport and Communications, was quoted as saying.
Both are among the world’s leading companies of their kind. Oiltanking, a subsidiary of Marquard and Bahls AG, owns and operates 71 terminals in 19 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Odfjell specialises in transporting chemicals and other speciality bulk liquids and provides logistical services. It has a fleet of approximately 100 ships.
Jan Meijer, the CEO of Sohar Industrial Port, said the signing marked a very big day in its history. <
