The E-7: dealing with customers’ real requirements

Extec Screen & Crushers Ltd., the Swadlincote (UK)-based manufacturer of state-of-the-art mobile screening and crushing equipment, has announced the launch of a brand-new tracked screen - the E7, a heavy-duty track-mounted self-propelled open-flow screening and stockpiling system.

This revolutionary machine has been purpose built for the recycling and quarrying markets.
The E-7 has been developed over the last year and a half through Extec’s acclaimed R&D programme.  “Based on in-depth customer and market analysis the E-7 has been developed in order to deal with customers’ real requirements, which traditional screening solutions are unable to adequately cater for,” a company spokesman said.
The new product addresses customers’ requirements including screening heavy over-burden at the quarry face; pre-screening/scalping prior to being fed into a crusher; recycling construction and landfill waste; separation of sticky aggregate.
“The first E-7s have been met with a tremendous response and Extec reports it is barely able to meet the unprecedented demand,” the spokesman said.
Key features of this machine include:
• Heavy-duty hopper adjustable for length and loading height. Capacity up to 10 cu m.
• Double plated apron plate feeder.
• Heavy-duty screen box with uniquely high throw and uniquely high vibration with an adjustable angle of incline ranging from 10 - 22 degrees.
• Punched plate, heavy duty mesh, rock fingers or grizzly bars can be fitted to the top deck while heavy duty mesh or fingers can be fitted to the bottom deck.
• Large free flow area from the hopper onto the screen box.
• Large open free flow area from the screen decks to the stockpiling conveyors.
• Rear conveyor which handles the larger sized products is supported by an impact bed which prevents roll-back or lateral movement of material.
• Heavy duty crusher-type chassis.
Extec has reported a record number of sales resulting from its recent attendance at SAIE 2004 in Bologna, Italy. Marketing manager Roger Murrow stated: “The show was a phenomenal success for us.  We’ve definite orders for 5 C-12 crushers and 7 S-series screens with more business still to come in over the coming months.  Not to mention the fantastic reception the E-7 received on its Italian launch.”
Commenting that the Extec presence was one of the high points of the show, Murrow said  “the stand was fantastic but it’s the equipment people come to see.  SAIE is the perfect showcase for us to display our wares to the Italian market.”
The simple idea was to construct an integrated screening system that would combine true mobility with high productivity. This resulted in the mould-breaking 5000.
Due to the success of the machine, production was moved first to Brightside lane in Sheffield, and then as the business grew to larger premises in Wincobank.
Dealing with an ever-increasing world market Extec operates an international distribution service to cater for ever increasing global demand.
