Al Zamil: “a testimony to our commitment”

HVAC service and maintenance firm Zamil CoolCare, a strategic business unit of Zamil Air Conditioners (ZAC), has received National Environmental Balancing Bureau (Nebb) certification from the USA for testing, adjusting and balancing (tab) air and hydronic systems.

ZAC is currently the only Nebb-certified tab organisation in Saudi Arabia.
The certification attests the competence and capability of Zamil CoolCare in offering its services in testing, adjusting and balancing air and hydronic environmental systems through proper methods and procedures as established by Nebb.
Nebb is a non-profit organisation founded in 1971 by contractors in the heating, ventilating and air conditioning industry. It establishes and maintains industry standards, procedures and specifications for work in various disciplines including tab.
According to Faisal Al Qahtani, general manager of CoolCare, proper balancing of air conditioning equipment is an important final step in the installation process, as it can minimise operating costs and energy bills and improve performance and help achieve the desired indoor environment.
“Nebb certification is part of CoolCare’s ambitious plans of making Zamil Air Conditioners a one-stop-shop for all HVAC-related needs,” said Al Qahtani who added that the certification was also a reflection of the superior level of teamwork at CoolCare.
Zamil CoolCare demonstrated its competency and infrastructure for all required procedures through a series of rigorous written and practical NEBB examinations.  “The certification procedures also included stringent terms such as visual inspection of our tab instruments and their compliance with calibrations,” said Philips Tharakan, tab Supervisor at CoolCare, who represented the company at these tests.
“Usually tab is the final phase in HVAC projects.  CoolCare’s venture in this field will ensure closer ties with building owners and occupants, leading to further business opportunities for other CoolCare services,” added Mohammed Ali, area manager, CoolCare.
In another development at ZAC, petrochemical giant, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) recognised Zamil Air Conditioners (ZAC) as an outstanding supplier in 2003.  An award honoring the sector business of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) was presented to Abdulla Al Zamil, chief operating officer of ZIIC, at a ceremony held at Sabic’s premises in Jubail in the second half of April..
“The award was conferred upon ZAC as a recognised contractor to Sabic for its performance efficiency over the past year, for its consistently high customer service levels and for its timely response to Sabic’s varied needs,” a ZIIC spokesman said. The selection of ZAC as a contender for the award was based on recommendations from Sabic affiliates, including Hadeed, Petrokemya, Ibn Zahr and Ibn Sina.  In total, 48 companies from around the world received awards, eight of which were feted for their work in the customer services sector.
“That Sabic has bestowed this award upon ZAC is further testimony to our commitment to adhering to stringent - and consistent - quality standards across the board and to the ongoing quest to deliver exceptional customer services,” said Abdulla Al Zamil.
ZAC’s air conditioning products are marketed under various brand names - Classic, Cooline, Cool Care, Clima Tech, Kessler Tech and Geoclima - depending on specific markets.
ZAC is also involved in the production of branded air conditioners for several leading international manufacturers. It operates a joint venture between Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC) and General Electric, called Middle East Air Conditioners (MEAC) to make a range of GE-branded air conditioning consumer products.
