Bahrain-based Ahmed Zayani and Sons launched Skoda cars recently. Skoda, a Czech brand associated with international rallying, came to Bahrain around 100 years after the company first began manufacturing cars.

The Bahrain dealer’s automotive division director Riyadh Al Zayani said it had come a long way since Volkswagen took over production of the car, which is now called Skoda Auto.
The three brands of Skoda launched in Bahrain are the Skoda Fabia in the small-car segment, the Skoda Octavia in the mid-range and the Skoda Superb in the luxury segment.
The Fabia was launched in three versions - the hatchback, sedan and station wagon. Octavia has come in hatchback and Combi while Superb has been launched in sedan only.
The cars are expected to be received well as quality and safety are top priority for Skoda. “In safety we have to meet European standards, since we sell much in European Union.  In emissions we comply with EU4 in Europe. However, for cars sold outside the European market, we comply with EU2, because it depends also on the petrol quality,” a Skoda statement said.
Built to European standards, the Skoda comes styled to elegance. The engines of all the models delivered to Bahrain are transversely mounted and they come with factory-fitted audio and air conditioners.
“The smooth lines and the company-fitted audio system that doubles into a navigation aid when called for make Skoda unique,” the company said.
