The BAP 731: one of five new models suited for road repairs and demolitions

Bobcat has launched the new Bobcat Air Power (BAP) range, marking its entry into the portable compressor market.

Initially, Bobcat is offering five compressor models providing free air deliveries from 2 to 5 m3/min. They are now available through the company’s network of distributors serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The BAP 721 and 726 portable compressors are the smallest models in the Bobcat Air Power range, producing 2 m3/min and 2.5 m3/min of compressed air at 7 bar, respectively. Power is provided by the 3-cylinder Ingersoll-Rand 31RL2N water-cooled engine which, in the BAP 721, is rated at 16.5 kW running at 2500 rpm, and in the 726 at 20.5 kW at 3250 rpm.

“These single-tool compressors are particularly suited to road repair, demolition and other standard pressure applications,” a Bobcat press release said. “They can be coupled with a comprehensive range of breaking, demolition and other pneumatic tools. They offer an optimised machine balance with minimal nose weight and, combined with their compact size, offer excellent manoeuvrability on site.”

Also offering a compact design, the new BAP 731 and 741 portable compressors supply 3 m3/min and 4 m3/min of compressed air at 7 bar, respectively. The BAP 731 model is powered by the 3-cylinder Ingersoll-Rand 31RL4N water-cooled engine providing 25.5 kW of power running at 3000 rpm. In the BAP 741 portable compressor, power is provided by the 41RL5N 4-cylinder water-cooled engine rated at 34.5 kW.
The biggest model in the Bobcat Air Power range is the BAP 751 compressor powered by the Ingersoll-Rand 41RJ7N 4-cylinder diesel engine providing 46 kW of power at a full load speed of 2400 rpm. Equipped with three air power outlets, the BAP 751 portable compressor is designed to power pneumatic tools and paving breakers.
An option for each Bobcat portable compressor is a tool storage box capable of holding the largest paving breaker as well as a lubricator to ensure the smooth running of the tool.
“All Bobcat portable compressor models offer the added value of a quality pre-treated, zinc phosphate coated steel enclosure with powder coated paint, offering excellent resistance to the combined effects of corrosion and abrasion and providing the robustness required for work on construction sites,” a Bobcat statement said.

In addition, all BAP compressors are backed by Bobcat single source responsibility for every component of the compressor package, including the engine. The compressors are also backed by an optional five year or 10,000 hour powertrain warranty.

The new Bobcat Air Power compressor range joins a comprehensive product offering from Bobcat, including compact wheeled and tracked loaders, mini-excavators, light compaction equipment, vibratory compactors and telehandlers.
