Intertec Systems LLC, an information technology solutions company, and LANDesk Software, launched the LANDesk management suite (LDMS) version 7 during a two-day seminar held recently to introduce the new software to potential users in the country.

This version of the award-winning management suite further enhances business performance with new components including software license monitoring, profile migration, and expanded Macintosh* support.

LDMS 7 is a comprehensive, integrated management solution that is easy-to-use, and empowers IT professionals to increase efficiency and reduce costs by proactively managing desktops, servers, and mobile devices in complex IT environments.

"LDMS 7 provides tools for all phases of a migration including planning, targeting, image creation, profile capturing, OS deployment, application restoration, profile restoration and post imaging activities. LANDesk's OS imaging and profile migration tools can be used to migrate multiple users at one time, or used independently as a standalone utility for single user migration," a LANDesk statement said.

"LDMS 7 offers a new software distribution solution for Mac OS X, as well as expanded inventory and remote control support for Mac OS versions 8, 9 and 10. As a result, Macintosh clients are no longer "refugees" inside the corporation, and can be managed from a single console like other machines on the network."

Fred Broussard, PC and Device Management Software analyst with IDC, said: "With Version 7, LANDesk Management Suite's software license monitoring, profile migration and broad, heterogeneous platform support add increased value for the enterprise." Users of LANDesk solutions in the Middle East span all sectors. They include the Directorate of Sharjah Town Planning, Abu Dhabi Police, the RAK and ARBIFT bank, the UAE ministries of Interior and of Labour and Social Affairs, and the Omani ministries of health and finance.
