Taiwan's Gigabyte Technology Company, makers of motherboards and add-on card products for more than a decade, has announced it is expanding into new product lines such as desktop platform solutions, servers, broadband routers, Gigabit switches, wireless LAN and network attached storage (Nas) appliances.
One of the new products is the Gigabyte CD Rom, which the company says "incorporates the use of solid, precise mechanics making it one of the most reliable optical drives available in today's market."
The 52x CD-Rom drive transmits data at a speed of up to 7.8 MB/s with an average access time of 120ms, making it a high-performance assistant in the daily usage of CD-Rom data.
Gigabyte has also developed its resources to bring out another new product line, G-Max monitors.
In the Middle East, Gigabyte Technology Company products are distributed by Golden Systems Electronics (GSE). Some of the other brands GSE is distributing are VIA, Teac, Seagate and Kingmax.
Gigabyte Technology recently demonstrated its technological superiority at a seminar in Dubai entitled, "Golden Miracle of Gigabyte." It explained the Seed concept and introduced the new series of Intel 865/875 chipsets-based motherboards.
Seed stands for (customer) satisfaction, (product) excellence, (technology) evolution and (product) difference.
"It is fully applied to the hardware design - the 6-Dual Miracle - as well as the software design - the miracle of Xpress3 - to ensure product reliability to achieve customer satisfaction," the spokesman said. In compliance to Intel's advanced technologies in the 865/875 chipsets, Gigabyte included the Seed design in a new series of motherboards. Following the success of GA-8INXP, Gigabyte Technology incorporated the 6-Dual Miracle to the latest GA-8KNXP/8PENXP series.
The six miracles stand for the dual logical processor through Intel hyper-threading technology, the dual channel DDR memory architecture, the dual power system, the dual raid interface, the Gigabyte-patented DualBIOS technology, which protects BIOS from virus attacks, and the dual cooling system.
The 6-Dual Miracle was first implemented on Intel E7205 chipsets-based GA-8INXP series. Through those technologies, the GA-8INXP has received more than 50 worldwide media awards.
"With a talented, resourceful infrastructure and design capability, from motherboard, VGA and desktop platform to communication and server, Gigabyte has developed a full-scale product network to create an ideal platform for the world of Internet connectivity," the spokesman said.
"The Gigabyte P4 Titan 875P series motherboards are the ultimate solutions for the latest 800MHz FSB Intel Pentium 4 processor with hyper-threading technology ... The GA-SINXP1394 is the ultimate solution and the milestone for the Intel Pentium 4 platform, especially for the latest Intel Pentium 4 hyper-threading technology processor up to 3.06Hz or above."
