Zac products: hallmark of quality.

Saudi Arabia's Zamil Air Conditioners (ZAC) has announced it has received Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), US, certifications to its chillers and unitary range of products. The achievement follows its recent successes in gaining the Eurovent certification and upgradation of quality systems to ISO 9001 standards.

ARI of the US is the reigning authority when it comes to standards and certifications related to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. ARI standards establish rating criteria and procedures for measuring and certifying product performance. In this way, products are rated on a uniform basis, so that buyers and users can properly make selections for specific applications.

The ZAC products and the corresponding ARI certifications received by them are:

Chillers: air-cooled reciprocating and screw water chillers - Classic Series AWX, ASX-A and ASX-B; cooling capacities up to 200 tonnes, 60 Hz; ARI Standard 550 / 590-98.

Unitary Products: Package Units and Central Splits - Classic Series PX and BX / CX; cooling capacities up to 5 tonnes, 60 Hz; ARI Standard 210 / 240; Package Units and Central Splits - Classic Series PX and BX / CX; cooling capacities from 5 tonnes up to 20 tonnes, 60 Hz; ARI Standard 340 / 360.

The products have been certified by ARI through the Intertek Testing Services / ETL in Courtland, New York. The certification means that performance capacities have been verified and tested by an independent laboratory and that they are accurate and indeed the same as published in the product catalogues.

Zamil Air Conditioners is the first manufacturer in the Middle East to receive the coveted ARI certification. Efforts are on to receive ARI, and also the Eurovent certification for air-handling units (KW Series) and the fan coil units (DWX / DWL Series).

ZAC, one of the unit companies of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC), is the largest supplier of air conditioners in the Middle East. It manufactures and markets a whole range of air conditioners - from room air conditioners to package units to large-capacity air conditioners for commercial and industrial application.

Over the past few years, ZAC has embarked upon an ambitious growth path. Besides expanding its product lines through the three acquisitions made by ZIIC in Europe - Clima Tech, Geoclima and more recently a technology and brand name acquisition of Kessler Tech, a well known name for air handling units in Germany -- Zamil Air Conditioners has been vigorously moving into newer markets and investing heavily in R&D.
