Amin named new Executive Board Member of Siemens Energy

The Siemens Energy Supervisory Board has appointed Karim Amin as Member of the Executive Board, effective March 1, 2022.

Amin is succeeding Jochen Eickholt who will leave Siemens Energy to serve as the new CEO at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, in which Siemens Energy holds a majority stake of 67 per cent.

Amin is currently Executive Vice President for the Siemens Energy Generation division. As member of the executive board, he will be responsible for the Generation and Industrial Applications divisions and continue to lead it.

Amin served in various management positions and had experience in service operations, sales, product management and lately was responsible for the biggest division within Siemens Energy (26,000 employees). He graduated from Cairo University as an Electrical Engineer and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School in the UK.

Sanad launches new strategy, names new Group CEO

Sanad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), has announced the launch of a new strategy to expand business beyond the aerospace sector.

The company also appointed Mansoor Janahi, currently Deputy Group CEO of Sanad, as the new Group CEO to lead the growth stage under the new strategy. He assumes his position with effect from February 1, 2022.

He replaces Troy Lambeth, who will be supporting a number of strategic initiatives both within the Sanad Group as well as in support of Mubadala’s UAE Investments platform.

The strategy and leadership announcements follow the launch of ‘Operation 300bn’ last year, which aims to more than double the industrial sector contribution to GDP in the UAE to AED300 billion by 2031.

Under its new industrial services strategy, Sanad will contribute to the economic diversification agenda and help position the UAE as a global industrial hub. Its future offering will be focused on providing technology-driven and integrated industrial services.

Omnix International appoints new Acting CEO

Omnix International has announced the appointment of Walid Gomaa as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Transitioning into his new role, he will continue to drive the organisation into proficiencies that will enhance its strategic priorities. He was previously Vice President Solutions & Customer Success in the company.

Etisalat makes key leadership appointments to drive growth across its operations

Etisalat Group has announced the appointment of Mikhail Gerchuk as CEO – International and Khalifa Hassan Al Forah Al Shamsi as CEO – Etisalat Consumer Digital. Reporting to Hatem Dowidar – Etisalat Group CEO, Gerchuk and Al Shamsi will help secure the organisation’s growth mandate.

Gerchuk will be responsible for providing direction to develop and implement the international telco strategy and the accompanying long-term plans needed for practical, maintaining growth across international operations.

Al Shamsi’s appointment is part of Etisalat Group’s ongoing digital transformation strategy to significantly expand Etisalat’s digital portfolio by growing the existing business, as well as capturing new opportunities in the consumer market, through its new dedicated vertical – Etisalat Consumer Digital. 

The announcement follows the appointment of Salvador Anglada as the CEO of Etisalat Enterprise Digital in November 2021, to drive digital transformation by enabling enterprises and governments to become smarter through the use of the latest technologies such as Cloud, Cyber Security, IoT and AI.
