Mohidheen: raising awareness

Hilal Computers, a prominent systems integrator in the GCC, has emphasised the need to be vigilant against cyber security threats for employees while working from home.

Hilal Computers Cyber Security Director Shijas Mohidheen said: “Working from home, while a good alternative for companies in the present Covid-19 situation, brings new challenges. These challenges   can be identified by asking the question – How do you ensure that your company is not susceptible to cyber-attacks through possible unguarded ‘back-doors’ being left open via remote or business distancing working?”

Hilal Computers is promoting a campaign to raise awareness of cyber security threats emanating from home working and presenting possible solutions. The issue has been highlighted in recent weeks as companies and organisations have been reporting an increase in cyber-attacks. The Hilal computers campaign includes many complimentary services, free webinars and awareness calls.

“We aim to empower our partners and clients so that they are able to understand where their businesses are susceptible to threats and deal with potential cyber disruption,” added Mohidheen.

Hilal Computers is constantly working on new projects and turnkey solutions that enable organisations to maintain stability and security. This commitment is exemplified in the company’s investment to build a Networks Operations Centre (NOC) and a Security Operations Centre (SOC). The SOC and NOC both offer 24/7 monitoring and protection services.

“Security awareness is vital for the modern world. We all have mobiles, tablets as well as PCs and laptops which assist us in our work lives; so, it is critical to have holistic cyber security solutions that protects all possible entry points. The key is providing a system which is truly agile, easy-to manage and easy to deploy which is cost effective,” concluded Mohidheen.
