Economic development in the aluminium industry will in future depend to a greater extent on the resource productivity of companies, as efficient and sustainable production ensures the competitiveness of aluminium as a material.

Just how exemplary the industry’s commitment to resource efficiency and sustainability already is will be demonstrated at the forthcoming Aluminium 2020 - especially in the areas of processing, recycling and environmental technology.

The upcoming Aluminium World Fair will take place from October 6 to 8, 2020 at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, in Germany, where over 1,000 exhibitors and more than 27,000 visitors from 100 nations are expected at the event.

In six exhibition halls, industry giants, specialists and young innovative companies will present the entire spectrum of the industry – from aluminium production to machines and plants for processing and end products to recycling.

From energy-efficient and low-emission processes, for example, in heat treatment and new production concepts in industry 4.0, to environmental technology and recycling – Aluminium 2020 will reflect the topic of resource efficiency in all segments of the process chain.

With the aluminium recycling theme area, the trade fair will make it clear how recycling is becoming increasingly important worldwide as a source of raw materials and as a contribution to resource efficiency.

Today, aluminium scrap is already one of the most economically valuable secondary raw materials and is therefore a key factor in the aluminium value chain – and also a profitable business. The exhibitors at the Recycling Pavilion will show the possibilities for sorting, collecting, recycling and transforming aluminium scrap into new alloys. Visitors will thus find the right solutions to further close the existing gaps in the recycling sector.

THEME PAVILION

Environmental solutions such as water treatment, air filter systems and oil or oil mist extraction systems will be the focus of the “Environmental Engineering” pavilion. The special area, which celebrated its premiere at Aluminium in 2018, shows the progress made by the aluminium industry towards sustainability within its own production chain and also highlights the industry’s contribution to environmental protection.
