3M’s gas and flame detection business unit, a company within the 3M Personal Safety Division, has announced the introduction of enhanced PS200 multi-gas detection instrument.
Launched last month, its most popular portable multi-gas detector, the PS200, will feature some impressive product enhancements. One such improvement is as a powerful new datalogging capacity that will enable customers to capture all relevant calibration and session data over a six-month period. This increased capacity will improve customers access to relevant data whilst enabling quicker decisions to be made, the company said in a statement.
Another helpful addition is the new quick-press field calibration mode which will save customers time by simplifying the field calibration process. Customers will also be able to visualise their short-term and long-term exposures to Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) enabling them to quickly determine current exposure rates and take appropriate action.
“Lastly, we have added a bundle of user experience upgrades including a quick configuration display; configurable confidence signals; and increased user control around calibration due dates, dead-band configurations, and resolution settings (H2S). These features combined will enhance performance; improve ease-of use; and importantly enrich the overall user experience,” it said.
3M’s gas and flame detection business, which generates about $120 million in annual sales globally, is comprised of former IST companies, Detcon, Oldham, Gas Measurement Instruments (GMI) and Simtronics, along with Scott Safety. The five legacy companies came together to form one unified company for providing end-to-end solutions and a comprehensive portfolio of gas and flame detection products.
