

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), a leading player in logistics and transportation, is showcasing its services, key achievements and future opportunities through a nation-wide roadshow on a state-of-the-art truck in Saudi Arabia.
Equipped with the latest technologies, the Bahri Truck Roadshow introduces valuable information about the history of Bahri, since its inception in 1978 to its latest achievements in 2017, including the launch of Door-to-Door Services.
More so, the company reiterates its company-wide commitment to innovation in transportation and logistics sector. The roadshow offers visitors insights into the company’s endeavours in Big Data analytics and how it leverages the technology to achieve increased revenue growth and cost optimisation, as well as to make rapid strides in smart operations and customer service excellence.
Wael Al Sarhan, senior vice president – marketing and communication, Bahri, said: “The roadshow provides us with an excellent opportunity to reiterate our emphasis on harnessing innovation and new technologies, not only to enhance our offerings, but also to improve our communications and strengthen relationships with our customers.”

Aldubaikhi: new role |
Following its launch, the Bahri Truck Roadshow visited several government and private organisations in Saudi Arabia, said a statement.
The roadshow made stops at the headquarters of Saudi Coast Guard, Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), and Saudi Railways Company (SAR), allowing the entities the opportunity to learn more about the growth story of the kingdom’s maritime transportation sector, as well as to discover Bahri’s journey through modern and sophisticated technologies integrated into the truck, it said.
Al Sarhan added that Bahri Truck Roadshow will continue its tour in 2018 to reach out to Bahri’s clients in the kingdom.
Besides various government agencies and ministries, the roadshow will make stops at universities to introduce students, especially in specialised colleges, to the logistics and maritime sector, and inform them of its unparalleled contribution to the growth of the Saudi economy, it stated.
WINS 3 LLOYD’S LIST AWARDS
A leader in logistics and transportation, it recently won the ‘Ship Operator Award’ and ‘The Lloyd’s List Intelligence Innovation Award’ at the Lloyd’s List South Asia, Middle East & Africa Awards 2017.
Bahri was also honoured with the ‘Transport Company of the Year Award’ at MwEED Awards 2017, said a statement from the company.

Bahri, offers a full suite of transportation and logistics services through its six business units, namely Bahri Oil, Bahri Logistics, Bahri Chemicals, Bahri Dry Bulk, Bahri Ship Management, and Bahri Data, has reached several milestones over the past year including five additions to its strong fleet of very large crude-oil carriers (VLCCs).
The conglomerate currently owns and manages operates 88 multipurpose vessels, including 41 VLCCs, 36 chemical and product tankers, 6 multipurpose vessels, and 5 dry- bulk carriers, it stated.
APPOINTS NEW CEO
arlier, the logistics and transportation major appointed Abdullah Aldubaikhi as its new chief executive officer, effective January 1.
In his new role, Aldubaikhi will be responsible for setting and overseeing the implementation of Bahri’s core strategic direction to further cement its global leadership position in the maritime industry, and lead the company’s expansion into new growth markets while seeking new revenue streams, said a statement from the company.
He will also be at the helm of the Bahri’s ongoing endeavours to integrate innovation into its business model, it said.
A Saudi national, Aldubaikhi joins Bahri from Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (Salic), where he served in the same role for six years.
During his career spanning three decades, he has held various senior management roles at a number of firms including Afwaf Investment, Awalnet, and DowLog Technology Company, which he co-founded in 1993.
Aldubaikhi is a member of the joint business councils between Saudi Arabia and the nations of Canada, Russia and France, and sits on the board of directors of several local and global companies, including Bank Alkhair, Alessa Industries, Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co, G3 Global Grain Group (G3), and United Farmers Holding Company (UFHC).
He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford in the UK, and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia.
Abdulrahman M Al Mofadhi, chairman of Bahri, said: “Aldubaikhi’s appointment as new CEO comes at a time when the company is gearing to enter a new phase of expansion and development on the back of our phenomenal growth over the past few months.”
