The National Association of Corrosion Engineers (Nace), described as the benchmark for corrosion industry standards, is backing an international exhibition for the chemicals, petrochemicals, chemical process technology, corrosion-control and management industries Chemtex & Corrosion Middle East 2002 will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from March 12 to 14. Nace's support for the show ensures it maintains its position as the region's leading interactive platform for the exchange of information and ideas on the latest methods of corrosion control and technology, a statement from the organisers International Expo-Consults (IEC) said.
"Nace has a worldwide reputation for promoting standards and quality in the corrosion industry," said Mohammed Falaknaz, vice-chairman, IEC. "Its backing is a clear signal this is the only Middle East show for businesses that want to assess the demand for regional corrosion technology."
Falaknaz pointed out that Nace had nearly 60 years' experience in developing corrosion-prevention and control standards and that it was the world's largest organisation committed to the study of corrosion with more than 300 members in the Middle East, all of whom would be among the visitors.
Chairman of the UAE Nace chapter Pradeep Radhakrishna said the organisation had more than 300 technical committees that researched, studied and recommended state-of-the-art corrosion technologies to the industry.
Radhakrishna said the organisation would use the show to promote Nace aims and standards and as a springboard for further involvement in the event.
