Y K ALMOAYYED & Sons (YKA)’ electronics and home appliances division has been appointed exclusive distributor of the Coolex brand of air-conditioners in Bahrain.

Coolex is a subsidiary of RIC Refrigeration Industries of Kuwait.

The appointment was made official during a meeting between YKA chairman Farouk Almoayyed and RIC deputy chairman and chief executive Saleh Al Mekhief at the YKA head office in Manama.

Coolex was developed in 1986 following RIC’s technical collaboration with international industry leaders York and is the only air-conditioning manufacturing company in Kuwait.

The Coolex range offers concealed ducted split air-conditioners for residential and commercial buildings and  central ducted split ACs designed for use within apartment buildings and small office units.

It also provides central package ACs for villas, office buildings and medium-sized malls, air-cooled packaged chillers for large projects and air handling and fan coil units.

YK Almoayyed & Sons is a diversified business group based in Bahrain and comprising YK Almoayyed & Sons, Ashrafs, Almoayyed Contracting Group, National Concrete Co and Almoayyed Properties. The group operates in key industry sectors and market segments, from automobiles and building materials to electronics and luxury goods.

The electronics and home appliances (EHA) division of YK Almoayyed & Sons was established in the 1940s and since then has significantly grown its operations throughout Bahrain and across the GCC with a presence in the UAE, Oman and Qatar.
