Ducab focused on the company's service-driven initiatives and its staff as its theme at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition 2002 (MEEE 2002) held in early February at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The show incorporated the Middle East Water and Environment Technology Exhibition.
This focus highlighted the company's service-driven initiatives such as Ducab Select, the Jointer Training Academy and e-Next, the e-commerce initiative, which was launched at the exhibition. The company held live demonstrations of cable jointing procedures by Ducab Jointer Academy experts.
"Ducab's participation theme at the show carries a special significance this year, as we aim to use this platform to penetrate the growing cable market in the GCC, which according to our estimates, touches a massive Dh4 billion. Our continued creation of new value-added services for the customer will sustain the competitive edge that Ducab already enjoys in the region," said Farid Mohammed Ahmed, general manager sales and marketing.
The show was a significant one for the region as it came at a time when the demand for electricity in the Middle East grew at an annual growth rate of 10 per cent during the last two years, while the corresponding growth in the generation production capacity was only five to six per cent annually.
Middle East Electricity Exhibition celebrated 27 years in the region in 2002.
