The scope for events organisation is expanding fast in Oman with the Government itself setting an example by planning spectaculars needing the expertise of well-established companies. Zenith Power Controls and Switchgear's events department has associated itself with major government festivals and has picked up business from private parties as well. The main government festivals are the Muscat Festival, the Khareef Festival in Salalah and National Day events.

The company started its events career with the first Muscat Festival in 1996. The festival, being an extravaganza, generates tremendous interest among residents of Oman who flock to witness the various events associated with the festival. Zenith provided the laser show, fireworks, musical fountains, water projections and sound and lighting. Zenith's principals for such events are Germany's Flash Art GmbH and UAE companies Zarco Exhibition Organisers and El Pyro, for the staging of fireworks, Aquatique International for water fountains and Belgium's Focalise for lasers. Local companies provide lighting and the sound system. Zenith has put on firework displays at Oman's National Day and Eid celebrations in Sohar, Samayil and Ibri.

According to a Zenith spokesman, there are eight or nine events companies in Oman competing for a slice of the action as regards spectaculars, but he insists his is the only one doing it as a multi-media performance.

The company has provided entertainment in the form of fireworks at weddings, product launches and shows for international tour groups. Oman LNG also commissioned it for its inauguration.
