SAINT-GOBAIN Weber has significantly strengthened its Construction Products division following the full integration in 2012 of Sodamco Holding and its subsidiaries within its fold after acquiring a majority stake in the Sodamco Group in 2009.
“With the full integration of Sodamco by Saint-Gobain Weber, Saint-Gobain Construction Products has a strong foothold in the Middle East region which continues to experience very dynamic growth in construction activity, real-estate and infrastructure developments,” a joint statement said.
“This new development falls within the strategy of Saint-Gobain, a worldwide leader for habitat markets, which relies on expanding internationally in developing countries and becoming the construction markets’ prime reference in providing sustainable and innovative solutions to save energy and protect the environment.”
Established in Lebanon in 1985, Sodamco has grown over the years to become a major player in the field of industrial mortars and concrete admixtures. The company offers tile fixing, façades, flooring, premixed plasters, technical mortars, and waterproofing as well as concrete admixture solutions under the flagship of Sodamco-Weber.
It employs around 600 persons and has annual turnover of $120 million and is recognised as a leader in the Middle East region with an industrial presence in the Near East and Gulf regions.
