Proceq Middle East has been witnessing good response to Resipod, its new surface resistivity meter.
“It has been launched quite recently and we are actually doing better than expected so far,” says a spokesman for Sharjah Airport Free Zone-based Proceq Middle East.
With the recent launch of the Resipod, Proceq has extended its successful portfolio of portable instruments for the non-destructive testing of concrete quality.
Concrete surface resistivity testing is completely non-destructive, simple to perform and yet is one of the most versatile test methods for on-site evaluation of concrete. Information can be obtained about the likelihood of corrosion, the corrosion rate, and the curing efficiency. It can even be used to predict the durability of a structure.
Further to the traditional applications, the Resipod incorporates the necessary features required for a new AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) standard test method for estimating the permeability of hardened concrete by means of a surface resistivity measurement. This test method, which requires only a few minutes to perform, is intended to replace laborious laboratory methods such as the bulk diffusion test and the rapid chloride penetration test.

Available in two versions with industry standard 50 mm (1.9”) contact spacing and 38 mm (1.5”) contact spacing, the Resipod has a number of unique features. It is the most accurate surface resistivity meter available. It is the only fully integrated four-point Wenner Probe on the market with on-board memory and a USB connection to a PC. It is supported by Resipod Link software, making analysis of the results a simple matter. The standard probes can be removed to allow the user to attach custom probe configurations or a variable spaced probe. The software allows the setting of the probe width as required.
The instrument is supplied with a robust carrying case, a test block, and product documentation. An extension cable is available as an accessory to allow variable probe spacing, or user probes to be attached to suit specific applications. As with all Proceq Products, sales and full service support is available from Proceq’s global locations in Asia, the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Russia.
The Resipod comes with a 24-month warranty on all electronic parts. When purchasing the instrument, the buyer is also offered the possibility to purchase extended warranty coverage.
