Pre-engineered Buildings

Kirby’s market prospects strong

Kuwait-based Kirby Building Systems, which completed several major pre-engineered steel building (PEB) projects within the Gulf and abroad recently, says that market opportunities remain strong for both PEBs and structural steel. “There is significant growth in GCC government and private projects in civil, industrial, infrastructure, oil and gas segments,” said a Kirby spokesman.

Kirby has five state-of-the-art manufacturing plants located in Kuwait, Ras Al Khaimah (UAE), Hyderabad and Haridwar (both in India) and HCMC (Vietnam) with a total production capacity of 425,000 tonnes annually.

Kirby’s GCC projects include the Gulf

The Kuwait plant has capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year.

The company recently expanded capacity at its facilities in Haridwar.

The spokesman listed some of the major projects Kirby completed recently in the Gulf and beyond. The Gulf PEBs included three in Qatar, namely Gulf Warehousing Company’s Logistics Village, the Tivoli showroom and the Safari Mall. In the UAE, Kirby completed the Ruwais Sulphur Expansion project in Abu Dhabi.  Other Gulf projects were King Saud University in Riyadh, Ikea Jeddah, Alosra Supermarket in Bahrain and the Arwa Universal Printing Press in Kuwait.

Two major recent projects it listed as having been completed outside the region were a Metro Cash n Carry building in Pakistan and a detergent factory of  PZ Cussons in Nigeria.
