Emal deal awarded to Global Power

Global Power Equipment Group Inc has announced that its Braden Manufacturing division has been awarded contracts to provide exhaust systems and other system components for the Emirates Aluminum (Emal) project in Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi.

Under the contracts, Braden will provide diverters and exhaust systems to Samsung and fuel circulation components to other clients for a planned expansion of the existing power plant. Total scope for Braden is estimated at approximately $10 million with a majority of products expected to ship in the second half of 2012.

“This is an important project for Braden and we are excited to be involved,” said Dean Glover, president of Global Power’s Products division. “Our products will support the Phase 2 capacity expansion of the power plant at the Emirates Aluminum Smelter Complex, which is designed to be the world’s largest aluminum smelter upon completion.” Emal plans to raise its production capacity to 1.3 million tonnes by the end of 2014.
