Critical Metals Corp (CRML) announced that the Government of Greenland has approved the transfer of the remaining 50.5 per cent stake in Tanbreez Mining Greenland, increasing CRML’s ownership to 92.5 per cent.

This marks a milestone, giving the company near-total control over the Tanbreez project—one of the world’s largest undeveloped deposits of heavy rare earth elements (HREEs).

European Lithium (EUR) retains a 7.5 per cent direct interest in Tanbreez and also holds a 37.5 per cent stake in CRML.

With this approval, CRML gains full operational and strategic authority over the project, removing key structural barriers and significantly reducing development risk.

Located in southern Greenland, Tanbreez contains all eight critical HREEs essential for defense systems, clean energy technologies, and advanced electronics.

Its advantageous location allows year-round shipping through deep-water fjords, improving logistics compared to many competing sites.

The timing is significant as Western nations increasingly seek secure, non-Chinese sources of rare earth materials.

With near-complete ownership, CRML is now well-positioned to become a major supplier of HREEs to the Us, Europe, and allied markets, supporting global supply chain diversification and energy transition goals.

Tony Sage, Chairman of CRML, commented: "This is a game-changing moment for Critical Metals Corp. and for Western rare earth supply security. Securing 92.5 per cent ownership of Tanbreez — with the full support and approval of the Greenlandic Government — removes the most significant structural overhang on the project and provides the clarity to advance Tanbreez to production with confidence.”

“We are now progressing with momentum, supported by advancing technical programs, strong metallurgical results, and engagement with our offtake partners. Tanbreez is no longer a future project — it is a project in development.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
