TAHA International for Industrial Services, headquartered in Bahrain, has been awarded the prestigious “Green Factory Label” by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
The recognition is granted to manufacturing entities that demonstrate advanced environmental compliance and forms part of a national initiative aimed at accelerating the transition toward sustainable industrial practices, elevating environmental stewardship, and strengthening the global competitiveness of Bahrain’s industrial sector.
The Green Factory Label was presented by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, to Ammar Awachi, CEO of TAHA International for Industrial Services, during an official ceremony organised by the Ministry and attended by representatives from the industrial sector and partner entities.
The company secured the label following a rigorous evaluation process against a robust set of eligibility requirements, including an active industrial registration, the reuse of at least 10% of industrial waste within production operations, sourcing a minimum of 10% of energy from renewable resources, the implementation of formal greenhouse-gas accounting methodologies, the establishment of emissions monitoring and reporting systems, and either the adoption of ESG policies or the deployment of carbon-capture technologies.
Holding the label entitles the company to a range of institutional advantages, including financing incentives, operational and export-related facilitation, as well as specialised training support. Collectively, these benefits are designed to enhance industrial competitiveness while reinforcing long-term business sustainability.
Awachi commented: “This recognition represents a strategic milestone for TAHA International and reinforces our standing as a sustainability-driven industrial enterprise. It further supports our efforts to embed an operational model based on environmental efficiency and corporate responsibility, and it reflects our commitment to clear, measurable environmental performance standards and continuous improvement.”
“Over recent years, TAHA International has invested extensively in modernising its operational infrastructure by adopting technologies that reduce emissions, enhance energy and resource efficiency, and support circular carbon economy solutions across our industrial facilities. These efforts have helped lower the environmental footprint of our operations while strengthening our competitive position in markets where sustainability benchmarks are increasingly important." said Awachi. -TradeArabia News Service
