Alba (workers shown at its plant) is hosting the 18th Arabal conference

ALBA figures in two trade shows, one to be held later this year and another already having taken place.

The smelter is hosting Arabal, the International Arab Aluminium (Arabal) conference, which takes place in Bahrain in November. It recently took part in Aluminium China which was held in Shanghai.

The forthcoming Arabal conference will be the 18th of its kind to be held and it takes place from November 25 to 27 at the Gulf Hotel under the patronage of Bahrain’s Prime Minister, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. More than 700 delegates are expected to be present at the forum whose theme is “GCC: an aluminium powerhouse.”

Alba’s chairman, Sheikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, said the company was honoured by the royal patronage and that it underlined support to “this key industry and its significance to related downstream industries.”  He noted that Bahrain has made significant strides across all industries, especially in the aluminium sector and downstream industries.

“Alba is proud to host Arabal and we aim to make it one of the most successful Arabal events ever,” he added.

Bahrain is hosting Arabal for the fourth time, and this year, it is expected to attract more than 700 delegates including key decision-makers and industry leaders from all sectors of the aluminium industry in the region and across the world.

Arabal is the premium trade event for the Middle East’s aluminium industry and the only conference in the world attended by every single primary aluminium manufacturer in the region, making it the “conference of choice for anyone interested in the Middle East aluminium industry,” an Alba statement said.

The first Arabal event was held in 1983 with Kuwait Aluminium Co bringing together leading figures in the Middle East’s aluminium industry to discuss issues of the day.

Alba recently announced the launch of the Arabal 2014 website, www.arabal.com.
