Emirates Glass, a processor of flat architectural glass, has secured two projects in Pakistan worth Dh1.25 million ($340,325), reinforcing its growing reputation in markets across the globe.

The company, part of holding company Glass LLC and subsidiary of Dubai Investments (DI), is supplying 7,000 sq m for telecommunications firm Telenor’s head office in Islamabad with an order value of Dh350,000 and 5,000 sq m for Bakht Tower in Karachi worth Dh900,000.

Bakht Tower is a mixed-use commercial and luxury residential building overlooking the Karachi beachfront and the tallest building in Pakistan.

Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2016.

They are a strong endorsement of the growing reputation of Emirates Glass in Pakistan and the company is eyeing strong growth over the next few years – particularly for high performance, eco-friendly glass which significantly reduces energy costs, a DI statement said.

“Emirates Glass, which currently supplies its glass across the region and beyond, is targeting steady growth in its export markets,” it said.

Rizwanulla Khan, executive president for Emirates Glass, commented: “The prestigious projects in Pakistan are a testimony to the growth potential of the high-quality, energy-efficient products from Emirates Glass.

“The company has an excellent portfolio of projects in the Gulf region and beyond, which has cemented its credibility as a trusted supplier of glass products.

“In particular, the surging demand for Emirates Glass’ eco-friendly glass further reinforces the growing commitment towards sustainable development and green building principles.”

The official said the company is aggressively aiming for an increased market share in existing and new geographies.

Emirates Glass witnessed significant growth in the past 24 months with sales of over Dh250 million, Dh150 million coming in 2015. The company expects steady growth and sales of Dh190 million this year.

Glass is an inherent part of the construction industry in the region and there is huge demand for cut-to-size, sustainable, post-temperable coated glass products for both commercial and residential projects, DI said.
