UAE dairy firm Al Rawabi has been recognised as one of the greatest Asia and GCC brands.

The accolade came at the recent summit of the Indo-UAE Summit and Awards 2015 in Dubai.

Al Rawabi, the UAE’s number one locally-based dairy in terms of production and output capacities, was formally presented with the “The World’s Greatest Brands & Leaders 2015 – Asia & GCC” award at the event attended by over 350 UAE business leaders and dignitaries.

Dr Ahmed El Tigani, general manager at Al Rawabi Dairy Company, was also awarded the title of “Powerful Leader” in the region for his leadership and innovative thinking and for guiding the company to great success in addition to making available products enriched with multivitamins and minerals designed to help solve the health concerns of the GCC population. The award was delivered by T P Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to the UAE.

The Indo-UAE Business Summit, held in the background of 44 years of Indo-UAE cooperation, was organised by United World Holdings, URS Media Consulting P L and AsiaOne, with the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC)’s Dubai’s chapter acting as associate partner. PricewaterhouseCoopers was the adjudication “process reviewer”.

“The Indo UAE Summit is a multi-industry project that in 2015 recognised brands across 16 industries and eight Arabian and Asian countries. Winners were awarded across three categories – Iconic, Powerful and Emerging,” said URS Media Consulting and AsiaOne Magazine’s principal partner Rajat Shukal.

Al Rawabi is the UAE’s number one dairy in terms of market share for juices, and also holds over 33 per cent of the market for dairy products in the UAE. 

Founded in 1989 in Dubai, the company has been producing juices, fresh milk and other dairy products at its farm in Al Kawaneej. Production at the farm began with 500 Holstein and Friesian cattle, the number growing to more than 10,000 cows.

Al Rawabi produces some 250,000 litres of milk daily. The company was the first in the UAE to pack fresh milk in plastic bottles and in 1994 became the first to introduce 100 per cent natural and fresh orange juice. It markets more than 14 flavours of juice,

Al Rawabi exports its products to Oman and Qatar and has some 9,000 distribution outlets.
