BHS launches warehouse tool

December 2015

Battery Handling Systems (BHS), Inc, a leading manufacturer of material handling and battery changing equipment, recently announced the release of the Conduit Carrier Cart (model CC-5K), a new material handling product for the electrical industry.

The Conduit Carrier Cart simplifies the handling and transportation of rigid electrical conduit, which has long, narrow dimensions that do not fit easily onto material handling vehicles. The CC-5K safely transports up to 5,000 pounds of conduit on an ergonomically designed steel frame.

“Conduit poses a challenge for electricians, and the CC-5K answers a crucial need in the warehousing industry,” said Katy Cortinovis, marketing manager at BHS. “Forklifts and pallet jacks have a hard time with bundles of rigid conduit. The Conduit Carrier Cart allows for better productivity in a variety of environments.”

A slim design allows the CC-5K to move freely through narrow aisles that cannot accommodate standard material handling equipment, and a combination of swiveling and fixed castors allow for tight turns without drifting during straight travel. A pair of wheel locks secure the cart between movements. These mobility features help to reduce installation costs by improving access to materials.

“Our goal was to create a cart that moves easily, but locks into place to hold conduit in position,” said Cortinovis. “BHS customers expect simple functionality with ergonomic features, and the CC-5K certainly fulfills those expectations.”

The Conduit Carrier Cart is the latest in BHS’s successful line of warehouse equipment, and adds to the company›s distinctive collection of material handling solutions designed specifically for electrical components. This collection also includes forklift attachments for reels of electrical cable (models RHA and ORL), a heavy duty Electrical Conduit Gauge (CG1), and the Parallel Reel Payout (PRP), which provides an even payout from several free-spinning steel reels.

“We’re continuing to expand our warehouse equipment line, and the Conduit Carrier Cart is an excellent solution for facilities of all sizes,” said Cortinovis. “Customers can visit our website at bhs1.com to download our full product catalog or to find nearby dealer locations.”

BHS is based in St. Louis, MO, USA.
